There's a good solution to this at http://www.deliberate.com/ , however,
I won't have time to set this up this week for a demonstration (unless
someone wants to pay my bills). Basically, anyone can set-up polls, or
watch the results as the poll progresses. Poll responses go to a
special database, not to the whole group, and can be given three
different levels of privacy, and different types of formats. It's much
more secure than a web based solution, and combined with the well know
discussion capabilities of email lists, it's a winner.
