The "Building a SRTS Bike Brigade: Tips on Getting Started and Spreading the Success" webinar from Safe Routes to School that was held March 13 is now available as a download at http://www.saferoutesinfo.org/events-and-training/srts-webinars/bbrigade . They have flowplayer, but I have to download the video at http://www.saferoutesinfo.org/sites/default/files/webinar/SRTSMarch2012_0.m… in order to watch it. It's about 283 MB in size. Bike Month Proclamation

Bicycle Board Members, For at least the past 3 years, the Bicycle Board has arranged for the Mayor to proclaim May as Bike Month in Morgantown. Attached is last year's proclamation. Since we are not meeting this month, are we going to drop the proclamation? If not, I think this is an opportunity to have the Mayor publicize the things that we are going to do for bike month. I thinking we could add them to the Whereas clauses. PLEASE ADVISE. e.g. what are we actually doing for bike month? Frank D. Damien, Chip, When can you meet to develop a budget for the bicycle plan? Say, 2 hours. It has to be before 4/17 because Damien, I and others are scheduled to meet with Terrence to present the budget recommendations. BTW, the Bicycle Plan is not on tonight's City Council agenda as the CC members requested at last week's COW meeting. Terrence decided to wait until we have some budget estimates for an affordable set of priority projects. Since only Chip replied to my March 8, 2012 message Subject: Fwd: Budget asking, "PLEASE REPLY IF YOU WILL HELP DEVELOP THESE RECOMMENDATIONS." I guess once again, we're the stuckees. Bicyclists get riding space under new Pa. law

If they can't do so safely, they must wait. The law also allows drivers on two-lane roads to cross the center line when they pass a bicycle if there is no oncoming traffic. Gov. Tom Corbett signed the law in February. Violations are summary offenses that carry a $25 fine. Pennsylvania is the 19th state to enact such a law.
