Meeting tomorrow: Canceled! Tentatively rescheduled for next Thursday - in the field!

Hello all, To shake things up a bit and have some fun we're gonna meet in the outside for our next meeting - tomorrow's looking cold and next Thursday is looking like a fine day (so far!). Other reasons for the postpone-ment: * If we meet next week we'll get back on the regularly scheduled bike board time (first Thursdays) * I haven't yet sent out follow ups from the previous meeting and I want to give ya some time to digest those * See attached "tasks" file for what I presented two weeks ago * See also attached suggested bike/ped projects that were recommended by the MMMPO Regional Plan - just to get your gears turning for infrastructure stuff * Minutes soon! If we can meet outside next week, I propose we meet at one of the various bicycle boulevards we're planning to install as part of our resurfacing project this year - and we can run through some design options and see how we'd like to implement some of the less prescriptive suggestions from the plan. Friends, colleagues, advocates - We're meeting tonight, 6:30p-7:30p. Basic agenda is as follows: 1) Introductions 2) I will review a basic structure of desired tasks / roles I would consider appropriate / desireable from the city for a future bike board. We'll have time to chat about this. 3) I will give a quick review of the People for Bikes Bicycle Network Analysis, and request help in updating our area's OpenStreetMap data to help us get a more accurate and meaningful score 4) We'll chat quickly about the new Bicycle Friendly Community application 5) I'll ask for help in promoting our next meeting, in two weeks. Specifically, I would like some help in getting our social media (ugh, I know!) back up and running if anyone is interested in helping with that. Let's try to meet on Microsoft (ugh, I know!) November Meeting Recap + Fw: Tell Us About Your Progress to Make Biking Better in Your City

Hello friends of the Bike Board - Happy New Year! First off, I want to extend my deepest thanks to Andrew Hoover, Erin O'Brian, and Jessica Shuey - all new faces to these meetings - for taking your time and energy to participate in this newest incarnation of the bike board. Frank, Marilyn, Jonathan, Chip - always excellent to work with you. I'm excited for the future of this board and its activities! In our November 9thmeeting, we chose to meet every two weeks to help keep the momentum and avoid fatigue. We kept that meeting to a (relatively) scant 1.5 hours, and I promise that all future meetings will stick to that length or shorter (aiming for an hour these days). Thusly, I'd like to schedule a meeting for next week or the week after, and again one in the latter half of January based on our previously stated desire to meet every two weeks. I don't know about you all, but these past couple months have been a doozy and a half. Onward, through the fog! Random bits of good news: * The MMMPO has formed a working committee to develop and implement a bike/ped data collection program for our region. More to come on that. * Those groundbreaking youth initiatives we were discussing at the end of our last meeting are still simmering behind the scenes. If you want to know more you should attend the next meeting! * We are 95% likely to make the recently installed bike lane up Eighth St. from Beechurst to Grant a protected bike lane * We're working to include explicit bicycle facility improvements on about half of our paving list next year (which I could use your help reviewing!)
