Good day all. Time for another information-filled evening! One important matter- Who is bringing the treats? ! Attached and following is the agenda for the meeting. ***************************** May Bike Board Meeting May 3, 2012 6:30pm - Morgantown Public Safety Building Open Action Items 197. Reconvene former BB workgroup to look at previous bike map to help Jing in his mapping project. 201. Damien Will discuss with DOH the possibility of adding two "Welcome to Suncrest" signs on the same poles as the BFC signs. * 205. Chip and Gunnar will reconvene parking committee to find the best place for two bike loops at the new farmer's market pavilion. * 209. Frank will ask the Spring Spectacular planning committee if they're okay with a state senator attending the event for a photo op. 210. Andrew will ask Colin to send a report from the singletrack project if he cannot make the May meeting. * 211. Frank will send the MAP 21 Webinar information to the entire BB. 212. Damien will forward the map of BFC sign placements to the BB. 213. Frank will follow up with Jim Manila to see if he can schedule his department heads to discuss the bike plan. 214. Hi, everyone, Sorry I was not able to come to the meeting last night. My driver’s license was expired and I have depended on my pregnant wife for transportation. Yesterday, she was too tired to go out, and so I did not come. I am planning to shop for a bicycle this weekend, preferably a mountain bike. Does anyone has any suggestions or warnings? Safe Routes to School Projects in West Virginia include upgrading current school crossing systems, improving or creating ADA compliant sidewalks in the area of the schools, or creating safer access to a school's walking path and playground equipment. Senate Bill 158 passed unanimously in the West Virginia Senate on March 26, 2013. Previous attempts last year at passing a Complete Streets bill had failed to make it this far because some lawmakers feared that the bill would mandate projects. Bicycle Board Members, As your representative on the MPO Citizens Advisory Committee, I will be happy to take your comments on the Long Range Transportation Plan to the MPO CAC at its meeting May 9. One easy way to do it is to simply search for the word "bicycle" in any of the chapters. Chapter 9 is fun because it has all the great planned bicycle projects.
