At 9 am tomorrow, 10/28, I will meet with Morgantown City Engineer Damien Davis to review engineering drawings for the Mon Blvd. bicycle climbing lane between 8th St. and the top of the hill. Please reply if you have any input on this or want to accompany me. Frank Gmeindl

Tonight's City Council meeting agenda item #10: Consideration of APPROVAL of FIRST READING of AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY OF MORGANTOWN AUTHORIZING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN IT AND THE WV DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS, FOR INSTALLATION OF A BICYCLE LANE ALONG NORTHBOUND U.S. 19(MONONGAHELA BOULEVARD), BETWEEN EIGHTH STREET AND EVANSDALE DRIVE. Imagine your next MUB bill containing a flier promoting bicycle safety such as the attached. Last week, all Sunnyvale CA residents received this flier with their sewer and trash bill. Sunnyvale's City Council even passed a law against harassing cyclists. This is definitely a very low cost action to promote bicycling safety but would require the coordination of at least City Council, City Management, MUB and the Police department. Happy cycling!
