All, Note the change in our venue -- I wouldn't blame you all for donning black robes for this month's meeting! Should be a nice change of pace. Stolen bike

MTB was stolen off of my back porch sometime between 9pm July 7 and midnight the next day (July 8-9). I just noticed it, cable lock was severed. The bike is white, Cannondale brand, Trail 6 model, with blue & black lettering, 29 inch tires. It has an ABRA sticker on it, 2 water bottle cages & a hand pump. I have pictures of the bike attached. 2018 Community Health Needs Assessment

Friends - a few years back we at WVU led the WVU Medicine/Ruby Community Health Needs Assessment. This is a process that all non-profit hospitals have to go through every 3 years so they can identify & address community health needs as part of their tax reporting. My colleagues & I are now updating the assessment, and the first step is a survey of community members. There was a great response to our solicitations last time, and we'd love to hear from you all again. Howdy Board, Happy 4th - as the subject states, our typical first Thursday meeting is postponed until July 12th. Please excuse any inconvenience! Our meeting will still be held in the Public Safety Building but we might need to swap rooms. I'll double check tomorrow and report back when I issue the agenda. Thanks to Christiaan for sending out the initial news and thanks to Andrew for this most recent follow-up. For better or worse the backstory provides important context for this crime. I would feel safe betting on this as not having anything to do with whether the person was on a bicycle or not. I hope whomever was hit is doing okay. Be safe out there friends. This may be a legal test of our state's 3 foot passing rule but only a $100 fine for that.Attempted vehicular homicide sounds about right. Interesting to see how this plays out legally. Bike Month: Updated Events Poster (with more info about the Motown Bike Bonanza)

Hello All! Please see attached for an updated poster that focuses on events happening just this week -- Bike to Work Day, the Friday night social ride, and the Saturday Bike Bonanza. This version has expanded information for the Bonanza and a corrected phone number for the mall hotline that will answer people's questions about the event. Please spread this poster far and wide over the next few days, and please join us at these excellent events. We always have a great time at Bike to Work Day and we have great prizes to give away for this year's event. The Bonanza should be a blowout success (cross your fingers for no rain!). If you know of anyone looking to volunteer, please send them our way. We're particularly looking for crowd control help on Saturday from 10-2p. Best, Drew p.s.
