Frank, I'd like to offer these comments for consideration....
- Someone who judges issues as hastily and superficially as Mr. Bolyard will probably only read the first paragraph. You might start the article with the conclusion - Cars are REALLY expensive to operate - even with the (apparently) high ownership costs, they are still heavily subsidized by non-driving taxpayers. Bicycles, even with their (apparently) cost-free operation are still paying MORE than the costs they incur.
- You might try to shorten the article for the same reason, but putting the most important point first would still be a good idea.
