Subject: 2010 Transportation Planning Conference Information

Good morning,
 
This is just a reminder that you have registered to attend the 2010 Transportation Planning Conference that is being held at the Clarion Hotel Morgan in Morgantown October 26-28, 2010.  The conference begins at 10:00a.m. on October 26th, with registration from 8:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. that morning. The agenda and announcement for the conference is attached.
 
As mentioned in the announcement, a cookout will be held at Marilla Park at 6:00p.m. on October 27th.  The cost for the cookout is $10/person (kids are free).   For those who would like to participate,  a guided bike ride via the Deckers Creek Trail and local roads is scheduled from the hotel to Marilla Park.  You may bring your own bike, or rent one from Wamsley Cycles in Morgantown. The contact information for Wamsley Cycles is in the attached announcement.
 
If you would like to participate in the bike ride, please email me to let me know ASAP, as we are trying to get an estimate for how many people are planning to participate.  Please note that helmets will be required.
 
Additionally, breakout sessions and focus groups are scheduled on the agenda for the afternoon of October 27th from 12:30pm-4:30pm.  Please review the breakout sessions and focus groups and be thinking about which ones you would like to attend.  If you have a preference on which focus group you would like to attend, please email me to let me know.
 
The mobile lab that is scheduled as one of the breakout sessions will be a bus tour of different areas in the Morgantown vicinity as selected by the Morgantown Municipal Bicycle Board and the Morgantown Pedestrian Safety Board.  The site assessment breakout session will be a walking tour conducted by Dr. Ron Eck with WVU and will cover areas around the hotel.  The mobile lab and site assessment are each limited to about 26 participants.  If you would like to attend either of these, you may sign up when you register at the conference. Participation will be on a first come, first serve basis.
