Ladies & gents -

First, thank you to all of those that organized and rode on the Spring Spectacular last weekend...as a first time group road rider, I felt very welcomed and encouraged to ride along with others. I learned quite a bit on proper group riding/communication, and greatly enjoyed my first time on the 100/19 loop. What a great community of riders we have!

 

Secondly, I've been trying to rustle up a few folks to register for the National Bike Challenge (track milage for points, prizes, and prideful boasting)...the results display by individual, community, workplace, and/or team. I see that Gunnar started a Bike Morgantown team - fantastic! I started a WVU CPASS team and there is a Mylan team as well.

Just thought I'd post some of the WV leaderboard so far...

Community:

1st: Charleston

2nd: Morgantown

3rd: Clarksburg

 

Teams: only 9 in WV so far

WVU CPASS - 4th

Bike Morgantown...no miles/points logged yet (though I nearly wiped out & hit Gunnar this morning, so I know he's riding)

 

Workplaces:
Mylan - 5th

WVU - 7th

 

I hope you'll all consider signing up, recruiting other riders, & logging your miles (online or using smartphone app) to help show just how strong the bicycling community is in Morgantown, building upon recent momentum in promoting cycling in the area.
