I like it, it's short and to the point. In the title, I think "Information" should be spelled out, and that the title should appear on both sides of the card. If the police hand some of these out it should have an impact. It will be interesting to share stories once we begin handing them out ourselves. I think it's important that the Morgantown Police logo remain on the card!Cheers,Butch-------------------------------------------Stephen G. Subject: [Bikeboard] Police Info CardBicycle Board Members,<bgPolice_Info_Cardv02[1].docx>May I have your concurrence on the attached police info card or your recommendations for its improvement? The intention is that this will be printed on a two-sided card similar in size and appearance to a traffic citation. The idea is that police (or anyone that has the cards, e.g. us) give one to a motorist or bicyclist observed disobeying laws whose violation particularly jeopardizes cyclists.Initiative #3 in the Morgantown Bicycling Plan Enforcement section is, "Send rights and duties postcard to motorists that cyclists or others observed and reported violating bicyclist rights". Initiative #4 in the Enforcement section of the plan is, " Handout rights and duties card along with citation to cyclists who violate rules of the road".Attached is version 2 of the police info card. It is a result of the Education Committee's work on version 1. I will maintain changes to the document in Dropbox at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9979830/Police%20Info%20Cardv02.docx . You can change it there, too but please use track changes. After we finalize it, I'll present it to the Traffic Commission with a recommendation that they concur with giving it to the police department. I think education grant money can be used to pay for producing the cards.
