PITTSBURGH (AP) — A new state law that took effect Monday requires motorists to give bicyclists at least four feet of buffer space when they pass. If they can't do so safely, they must wait. The law also allows drivers on two-lane roads to cross the center line when they pass a bicycle if there is no oncoming traffic. Gov. Tom Corbett signed the law in February. Violations are summary offenses that carry a $25 fine. Pennsylvania is the 19th state to enact such a law.
