At tonight’s Bicycle Board meeting, I agreed to send you the letter that the Bicycle Board sent to the MPO recommending bicycling accommodations for the redesign of Monongahela Blvd. between Patteson Drive and the Star City bridge.  The letter is attached.  

Within a few weeks of sending this letter, Bryan Radabaugh, then WVDOH District 4 engineer telephoned me and told me that the WVDOH redesign would incorporate the recommendations described in the attached letter.  (I know that a telephone call does not seem to be very official but that seems to be the way WVDOH works.  In a similar case when the new I-79 interchange was added to the STIP, Perry Keller of WVDOH telephoned me to tell me that bicycle accommodations would be included in that project and now we have them.)

I hope this message and the attached letter will be useful in your discussions with Fouad about the implementation of the north end of Mon Blvd. improvement.
