Jonathan,

Thanks for reading the criteria carefully: which I didn't.  I guess the lockers are out.  Perhaps we could approach the City about funding 58% of the Mon Blvd bike lane currently estimated at $24K and applying to Bikes Belong for the remaining $10K or 42%.

There are some things to consider.  According to http://www.bikesbelong.org/grants/apply-for-a-grant/grant-seekers-guide/ a "facilities grant would not consider Bike Racks, shelters, or lockers."  Moreover, a Bikes Belong Grant only "will not consider grant requests in which our funding would amount to 50% or more of the project budget" so we would need funding from other sources like the State, City or Sponsors.  Also, "support letters from the local bicycle industry would be KEY to" our "proposal.  Letters from Bikes Belong members—retailers and suppliers—will strengthen your application."

Bicycle Board Members,

This is about a $10K grant opportunity.  If some of you would help me write the application, I would like to submit one to purchase bike lockers for all of the City parking garages.  There are two application deadlines coming up: August 27 and November 30.  If we jumped on it right now, we might be able to make the August 27 deadline but the November 30 deadline is probably more attainable.

We don't have to apply for bike lockers.  If you would like to apply for something else, there are two categories: facilities and advocacy.  Our application would only have to fit the criteria.

Please reply if you're interested.
