Bryan,
Can you paint a 6-inch wide stripe between the roadway and shoulder northbound on Monongahela Blvd. between Eighth St. and Evansdale Drive?
Yesterday, I noticed that new asphalt has been applied to that shoulder. Please accept the gratitude of many cyclists for repairing the shoulder which has been crumbling lately.
The new asphalt has covered the roadway edge line so I assume you will re-stripe it as soon as possible. Instead of the standard 4-inch white edge line, I'm wondering if you could apply a 6-inch wide stripe. 6-inch is the standard stripe width for demarcating a bike lane. As you know, WVDOH, the City of Morgantown, the Morgantown Monongalia MPO and WVU have been negotiating for a bicycle climbing lane on that shoulder and we continue to progress toward realizing it. Painting a 6-inch wide stripe could be another small step in that direction.
I've attached the bike lane plans for your convenience.
