Subject: Saris Poster Contest-West Virginia State Winners and National Level Voting Information
Thank you for assisting me with spreading the word about the poster contest at the state and local levels. I was very excited to receive entries from 10 different schools state wide. Below are the three place winners for the state of WV with an attachment of the first place poster (not a great photo, the original watercolor is most impressive).
Heather Fortune at Saris will be in touch, by mail, with each winner at the end of April about their prizes.
In the mean time, please celebrate with me, as this was West Virginia's first year of competition!
The first place poster is now in the running for a national award. Please spread the word that national Saris voting is currently in session, and closes Friday April 6 at noon. Go to this link:
http://www.sariscyclinggroup.com/poster-contest.html One vote per email. You may vote for your favorite, but I think you will find #9 to be the WV entry, and it is a lovely representation of cycling along the New River Gorge Bridge.
I can be reached by phone for the remainder of the week,
304-526-3357, but not available by email (my apologies).
First Place:
Kelly Longanacre at Kenna Elementary
Second Place:
McKenna Stavely at Tomahawk Intermediate School
Third Place:
Samuel Ferris at Lenore K-8
All the entries were a great representation of the student body with in West Virginia. It has been a pleasures to coordinate this contest for the state.
Please feel welcome and encouraged to send out school, administration press releases about your local winners or national voting. If you need any assistance with this, I am happy to help.
