Christiaan,
Thanks for the notice. I would like see the webinar but I have a meeting at 3:00 pm, so I can only be a part of the first hour. If your interested, we can host the webinar in the Council Chambers room, then have a followup meeting on strategy for grant applications.

Jeff & Damien -
I strongly urge you to sit in on this webinar next Tuesday at 2:00. Darren & Peter are excellent at what they do. Instead of the meeting I asked for to simply discuss the project funding estimates that I requested of Damien, maybe we could sit-in together on this webinar to help us understand the big picture to fund some pedestrian & bicycle infrastructure this year (the 20% local match I proposed during the budget process). This could actually be a great meeting to include Frank of the Bicycle Board (cc'd) and maybe even Bill Austin from the MPO (also cc'd).
I'd be happy to come to your offices or we could meet in mine in the Coliseum. If the time & date of the webinar don't work we could watch it together later when it is posted on the web. Thank you both for your great work!
Christiaan

The Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21 st Century (MAP-21) law has changed many of the familiar routes for funding bicycle and pedestrian programs and infrastructure. But funding is still available. This presentation is intended to help pedestrian and bicycle officials learn how to use MAP-21 funding programs at the state and local levels.
Speakers Darren Flusche, with the Bike League, and Peter Lagerwey, with Toole Design Group, will discuss ways to access untapped or under-utilized federal funding sources to build bicycling and walking projects, as well as how to leverage the new Transportation Alternatives program.
At the conclusion of the webinar, both speakers will be available for questions and discussion.
This is the first of two webinars being offered jointly by the PBIC and the Bike League. The second presentation, to be held May 7, will focus on the economic value of pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure.
PBIC offers free, public Webinars approximately every other month. To register for upcoming Webinars and to access archived presentations, please visit
