Good morning, Saw this on gizmag this morning. I've been thinking about this idea for a long time. This guy's actually built it. It would be very cool to have it as an adjunct to our PRT since it could be hung above it without taking any additional ground space. On hills the descending riders could pull the climbing ones (or the energy could be stored on the ground to be used when needed). The system is also more extendable than our current one, more affordably.

Please disregard the comments about recumbents being unstable. All bikes are inherently unstable, they are stabilized by the rider (usually). He is correct that this system makes the riders' safety much less rider/motorist-dependent and I really want one. If it weren't in New Zealand I'd already be on my way to take the ride.
