Drew, I'm ok with you registering the new BFC account under your name, but before doing so, please consider how long you plan on being around Morgantown, awaiting input from the rest of the group for sufficient amount of time for them to provide input, whether or not you think that's best suited for the Chairman's role, and whether anyone else actually wants to do it.
After looking at those considerations and getting input from the group, I'm fine with it. I think you'd do a good job with it.
Thanks! ~Derek

All, does it make sense for me to register the new account under my name as chairman? Anyone opposed?
I'll be able to look closer into the dates over the next few days. When I spoke with Ken over the phone in January he indicated he wasn't expecting us to renew until August. I thought this implied that our award did not expire until then or even the end of 2016.
Best, Drew

Frank,
Thanks for forwarding this. I'm hopeful that the new system is an improvement. However, am I interpreting the email correctly by thinking that we may have missed a Spring deadline? Here it says that the deadline, or at least one deadline is August 9th, 2016: https://bicyclefriendly.secure-platform.com/a
When does our BFC award actually expire?
Thanks, ~Derek

Good morning,
I am contacting you today because your community is currently designated as a Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) by the League of American Bicyclists. I am excited to announce that we have now launched our new online Application Portal and an improved 2016 BFC application!
*All applicants, both new and renewing, will need to create a new account to submit an application. Please visit the new Bicycle Friendly America Application Portal at http://apply.bikeleague.org http://apply.bikeleague.org. *
If you submitted an application for our Spring 2016 deadline there is no need to create an account at this time, but it might be helpful for you to see our new system. The Spring announcement is currently planned for May 18 th.
You can read about some new features of the online portal at http://bikeleague.org/content/new-bfa-online-application-portal.
We also made some updates to the BFC application, including a new numbering system, and changes to make more questions multiple-choice. You can learn more about the changes made to our BFC application and download a copy of the complete 2016 application in Word at: http://bikeleague.org/content/new-improved-bicycle-friendly-community-applic....
As always, please visit http://bikeleague.org/community to learn more about the Bicycle Friendly Community program, and feel free to contact me with any questions.
Thank you!
Ken
