I feel we should move quickly in support of moving the bill in the house. We have two of three items - 3ft & side path intact. We can work to fix it in the Senate. The challenge for now is to get it passed out of Judiciary committe by tomorrow to keep it alive!

Does this amendment to the bill to reinstate the "as far right" language mean we should NOT contact the legislators? Or, can the bill be amended again to remove the as far right language? Gary, Thanks for your guidance to the Com. Amendments. "This is part of the danger of opening the code to make things better – sometimes it can make things worse!" is one reason I resisted us pursuing legislation without first educating all relevant key stakeholders. The fact that the very sponsors of the bill moved to amend it to reinstate the requirement that cyclists ride far to the right displays that they may not understand the dangers to cyclists of such a law. It also displays that they may not believe that cyclists have the same rights to the road as motorists but rather that bicyclists should get out of the way. Frank
