Friends -Wanted to let you all know what we did with the kids at Mountainview this year...a note summarizing the year that I sent the Principal is following...We're working to create an official Bike Club at Mountainview for the 2017-18 academic year, and welcome all help.Christiaan-------------
Ms. Collins -Thank you again for all the support this year. Thanks to that support we had at least 15 days on which a student rode to school. Twenty four different children (13 boys, 11 girls) rode to school at least once, including 2 from K, 2 from 1st, 5 from 2nd, 4 from 3rd, 2 from 4th, and 9 from 5th grade! In total they logged ~750 miles and burned ~22,000 calories commuting by bike. No major injuries, and we just secured the help of the city to work with one property owner in the neighborhood across from the school to open up a space to ride on their side yard so that the children will not have to ride on Dorsey at all! A great year! Thanks so much. We truly appreciate your willingness to helpChristiaan "When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought on anything but the ride you are taking.” -Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Great work Christiaan!
