Hi all,
WVU doesn't play until 7pm tomorrow, meaning you have all kinds of time to review your map/route suggestions and get them back to me! Please try to get them back to me as soon as you can. A Word document is my first choice for format.
One person has already sent them back to me, so the early bird prize is gone, but don't let that stop you!
In case you were not able to attend our meeting last night, here are some of the things we reviewed. Take a look at the links and feel free to send any route suggestions/edits and/or review bike rack locations and add your own.
*Bike Morgantown map* Here is the expanded map version, to refresh your memory: Bike Morgantown map https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1eUDfm--ocNdhGWkpwq4F2JRfJLM&ll=39.639645126548444%2C-79.96114647182617&z=12 Or go to http://bikemorgantown.com/route_map.php and click the box in the upper right corner ("view larger map").
*Rackspotter * Powered by Bike Arlington, but they're comfortable with us using it to mark bike rack locations in Morgantown. To use this, you will have to make a free account. If you're using this on a computer, you'll have to scroll over on the map (from Arlington) to Morgantown. Caution: we can't delete racks! So only add them if you're certain they are there. http://rackspotter.com/ http://rackspotter.com/
*Transportation Camp* Jonathan R., I think this is the "un-conference" you mentioned. http://transportationcamp.org/events/pgh-2016/
Thanks and have a great weekend! Christina
Hi Jonathan,
I just want to tell you, Thanks for doing such a great job on improving the commuter map. I especially like being able to toggle the layers.

Love the map. The only addition I might suggest is adding Madigan from Barrickman to Mississippi in the pleasant category. Thanks so much!Christiaan "When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought on anything but the ride you are taking.” -Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Just saw another few edits over in First Ward.Over by South Middle, there is now a gate blocking Schoolbus Drive at Smith Drive. Can you make the White Park trails all green? The connections off of those trails are pleasant too; East Parkway, Hite St from East Parkway to Standard, Hayes St, Standard Ave, Twigg Ave, and Madison from the trail to Mississippi. I'd list Madison Ave from Mississippi to Leonard St as OK (blue), and Leonard St from Madison Ave to Madigan Ave.Thanks! Hello everyone, Make some comments on the suggestions mostly in my area since I have not been here long. Everything else looks pretty good. Brian R.

Exactly, Christina, thank-you.
TransportationCamp Pittsburgh is November 19 from 8am - 5pm, registration is here https://www.eventbrite.com/e/transportation-camp-pittsburgh-2016-tickets-26750108294. There is a reasonable registration cost of $25.00 (regular) or $15.00 (students). CMU offers an awesome venue, I know from prior experience at other events there. I am interested in going, and Drew will already be up in Pittsburgh that day. If anyone wants to carpool up, please contact me.
This paragraph describes why interested Board members should consider attending this serendipitous event, especially since topics of this nature were just discussed at our most recent meeting, and there will be great networking possibilities:
Transportation is a major metropolitan issue, with direct impacts on economic strength, environmental sustainability, and social equity. Recent advances in technology—mobile computing, open source software, open data and APIs, and spatial analysis—present an opportunity to improve mobility more immediately and at a lower cost than has ever been possible in the past.
This video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM8kP6Np8AY gives a good overview, in fact, while watching it, I discovered, yet, another FLOSS software our Tech / Map committee will want to consider: OpenTripPlanner http://www.opentripplanner.org/ by Conveyal
Mobility Labs http://mobilitylab.org/ located in Arlington, VA is the current major organizer, also, ironically, they are located in the same region where RackSpotter and other software is being used to crowdsource data.
