Hello friends of the Bike Board - Happy New Year!
First off, I want to extend my deepest thanks to Andrew Hoover, Erin O'Brian, and Jessica Shuey - all new faces to these meetings - for taking your time and energy to participate in this newest incarnation of the bike board. Frank, Marilyn, Jonathan, Chip - always excellent to work with you. I'm excited for the future of this board and its activities!
In our November 9thmeeting, we chose to meet every two weeks to help keep the momentum and avoid fatigue. We kept that meeting to a (relatively) scant 1.5 hours, and I promise that all future meetings will stick to that length or shorter (aiming for an hour these days). Thusly, I'd like to schedule a meeting for next week or the week after, and again one in the latter half of January based on our previously stated desire to meet every two weeks. Please fill out this doodle pollhttps://doodle.com/poll/hmndbw2aai7tz94n?utm_source=poll&utm_medium=link, and please forgive the false start. I don't know about you all, but these past couple months have been a doozy and a half. Onward, through the fog!
Random bits of good news:
* The MMMPO has formed a working committee to develop and implement a bike/ped data collection program for our region. More to come on that. * Those groundbreaking youth initiatives we were discussing at the end of our last meeting are still simmering behind the scenes. If you want to know more you should attend the next meeting! * We are 95% likely to make the recently installed bike lane up Eighth St. from Beechurst to Grant a protected bike lane * We're working to include explicit bicycle facility improvements on about half of our paving list next year (which I could use your help reviewing!)
Also, I wanted to forward the email below as one of my follow ups to our meeting. One of the first things I'll be doing in 2021 is completing this People For Bike's Snapshot - I'd like your help on it primarily by filling out and spreading around the Community Surveyhttps://u8232924.ct.sendgrid.net/ls/click?upn=-2FQ23vsRKP4fdjLiX7FqTpl2mpwdj0rR5ZhOvHKYY0CDP6HZrsmHNlUP60MdrVIAW7xunrWAzwM0x0ZiLkhPMrg-3D-3Dk8RT_c3qhjFqCJXzJeaLgC4-2BCqP2zIDB2F1R4i1P1b47dvV7xI6PKWSdz-2B4Fqh4neBaYK7Sx5rz1Qj1-2Bu6lS7sFVJB-2Ftr0cV8KM-2FczzzD0mU41MpF3v3yLlwRA0gqpJxwb5aap6WeE0z5UUVC2pQyj3GliMkwAGlk54Cs8NIkXqLP6OldeHViplKl4VZvgrQoIuNYAuOGfMK2FV840zViyPQUo4GZtiyw8CQgoRMHgjJP8URALxpmQ-2F0zS8zY27E-2BBCU8n9qnZtK40ZkycZRckRjd34kCxrdEq7gw4dovMWInCS-2F-2FKl7PBR2sU-2FDjFdLxxLOp to help us get a proper review.

Greetings Drew,
We're hard at work updating the PlacesForBikes City Ratingshttps://u8232924.ct.sendgrid.net/ls/click?upn=-2FQ23vsRKP4fdjLiX7FqTpgXCj3-2BltvjvU9Vr8bSIRDmAGFJsjkBqTYmDJIpnQXxvJKJL_c3qhjFqCJXzJeaLgC4-2BCqP2zIDB2F1R4i1P1b47dvV7xI6PKWSdz-2B4Fqh4neBaYK7Sx5rz1Qj1-2Bu6lS7sFVJB-2Ftr0cV8KM-2FczzzD0mU41MpF3v3yLlwRA0gqpJxwb5aap6WeE0z5UUVC2pQyj3GliMkwAGlk54Cs8NIkXqLP6OlsP-2BqOPT0tgRjJRfm7JsWFyHAwje44WZJ4ugxdoaC-2BNBNjrNp3XmA47fRhikEtD9RaPfexLdX9fO6Vun1JmxTc-2Fq4qVzhr-2FbpuHrVWY9eHahJmqdph5ZARKfzJhtkE6wtbyuz-2BbQvsymEk-2BdtMmY0f program to deliver new, improved ratings for 2021. Next year, our program will evaluate more than 600 U.S. cities and add comparisons to 100 international cities across Australia, Canada and Europe.
To reduce year-to-year variability and emphasize the importance of building great and well-connected bike networks, PeopleForBikes is pleased to announce that our City Ratings program will undergo a number of improvements in 2021:
* Cities will be scored in only two categories: Network and Community. Our Network analysis evaluates how well your city’s bike network connects people to everyday destinations while the Community score helps us understand local perceptions of biking in your city. * Ridership, safety and equity will be benchmarked, but those categories will no longer contribute to your city’s overall score. Ridership, safety and equity measures all improve when your bike network is strong throughout the city, so this data will become supplementary rather than scored as a primary factor.
To help accomplish these changes, we've already made improvements to our Bicycle Network Analysishttps://u8232924.ct.sendgrid.net/ls/click?upn=-2FQ23vsRKP4fdjLiX7FqTppjkLJ99g1nf-2FFwwoCKj-2BTYapfhQaFCp-2FnybhADt9hPpq_es_c3qhjFqCJXzJeaLgC4-2BCqP2zIDB2F1R4i1P1b47dvV7xI6PKWSdz-2B4Fqh4neBaYK7Sx5rz1Qj1-2Bu6lS7sFVJB-2Ftr0cV8KM-2FczzzD0mU41MpF3v3yLlwRA0gqpJxwb5aap6WeE0z5UUVC2pQyj3GliMkwAGlk54Cs8NIkXqLP6OlREjUq1VIfB0XZkvgtky4E2sRz5i2sKf9mDq-2Fj1ajhkBOAMpK-2B5OTJ2oe2XjmIaqFPpz2Id8kDPwiwI87XWqXw8pMgfDZ0CKFpBdxAshk9TnlvJF6T-2BuOQwKJoJH1a2s7ferAwkGTlzQjr7DXmoyCq and launched our Community Surveyhttps://u8232924.ct.sendgrid.net/ls/click?upn=-2FQ23vsRKP4fdjLiX7FqTpl2mpwdj0rR5ZhOvHKYY0CDP6HZrsmHNlUP60MdrVIAW7xunrWAzwM0x0ZiLkhPMrg-3D-3Dk8RT_c3qhjFqCJXzJeaLgC4-2BCqP2zIDB2F1R4i1P1b47dvV7xI6PKWSdz-2B4Fqh4neBaYK7Sx5rz1Qj1-2Bu6lS7sFVJB-2Ftr0cV8KM-2FczzzD0mU41MpF3v3yLlwRA0gqpJxwb5aap6WeE0z5UUVC2pQyj3GliMkwAGlk54Cs8NIkXqLP6OldeHViplKl4VZvgrQoIuNYAuOGfMK2FV840zViyPQUo4GZtiyw8CQgoRMHgjJP8URALxpmQ-2F0zS8zY27E-2BBCU8n9qnZtK40ZkycZRckRjd34kCxrdEq7gw4dovMWInCS-2F-2FKl7PBR2sU-2FDjFdLxxLOp to gather feedback from thousands of residents in your city.

Our Network analysis evaluates how well your city’s bike network connects people to everyday destinations while the Community score helps us understand local perceptions of biking in your city. * Ridership, safety and equity will be benchmarked, but those categories will no longer contribute to your city’s overall score. Ridership, safety and equity measures all improve when your bike network is strong throughout the city, so this data will become supplementary rather than scored as a primary factor.
To help accomplish these changes, we've already made improvements to our Bicycle Network Analysishttps://u8232924.ct.sendgrid.net/ls/click?upn=-2FQ23vsRKP4fdjLiX7FqTppjkLJ99g1nf-2FFwwoCKj-2BTYapfhQaFCp-2FnybhADt9hPpq_es_c3qhjFqCJXzJeaLgC4-2BCqP2zIDB2F1R4i1P1b47dvV7xI6PKWSdz-2B4Fqh4neBaYK7Sx5rz1Qj1-2Bu6lS7sFVJB-2Ftr0cV8KM-2FczzzD0mU41MpF3v3yLlwRA0gqpJxwb5aap6WeE0z5UUVC2pQyj3GliMkwAGlk54Cs8NIkXqLP6OlREjUq1VIfB0XZkvgtky4E2sRz5i2sKf9mDq-2Fj1ajhkBOAMpK-2B5OTJ2oe2XjmIaqFPpz2Id8kDPwiwI87XWqXw8pMgfDZ0CKFpBdxAshk9TnlvJF6T-2BuOQwKJoJH1a2s7ferAwkGTlzQjr7DXmoyCq and launched our Community Surveyhttps://u8232924.ct.sendgrid.net/ls/click?upn=-2FQ23vsRKP4fdjLiX7FqTpl2mpwdj0rR5ZhOvHKYY0CDP6HZrsmHNlUP60MdrVIAW7xunrWAzwM0x0ZiLkhPMrg-3D-3Dk8RT_c3qhjFqCJXzJeaLgC4-2BCqP2zIDB2F1R4i1P1b47dvV7xI6PKWSdz-2B4Fqh4neBaYK7Sx5rz1Qj1-2Bu6lS7sFVJB-2Ftr0cV8KM-2FczzzD0mU41MpF3v3yLlwRA0gqpJxwb5aap6WeE0z5UUVC2pQyj3GliMkwAGlk54Cs8NIkXqLP6OldeHViplKl4VZvgrQoIuNYAuOGfMK2FV840zViyPQUo4GZtiyw8CQgoRMHgjJP8URALxpmQ-2F0zS8zY27E-2BBCU8n9qnZtK40ZkycZRckRjd34kCxrdEq7gw4dovMWInCS-2F-2FKl7PBR2sU-2FDjFdLxxLOp to gather feedback from thousands of residents in your city.

The City Snapshot is a 23-question survey about your current and planned street improvements. The information you provide will help us illustrate local progress, speaking to a broad audience about your city’s recent successes and plans for the future.
Participation is completely voluntary, and will not influence your annual scores, but does help PeopleForBikes make accurate recommendations that will improve bicycling for everyone.
We ask that you submit a City Snapshot for your city by January 29th, 2021.
To minimize the time it will take to review and provide answers online, here is a PDF version of the surveyhttps://u8232924.ct.sendgrid.net/ls/click?upn=-2FQ23vsRKP4fdjLiX7FqTpqckmAzDq56mzcsb3ZHn9mziWtQi4Gut9QP5IMizsnfl-2FzOWZtdqdRmIBbSM1dsxhuurCIKqvJHvYkKQgmNEjXYt82YAm1DrTnY-2BEmRS3n83vfs5058QdgLzJNlKA6aCe8ZmdzS3yoZlJ-2BcEhSAD0EFVoo-2FRBHwYS9YZBAhaEeZHqkTMegD7JtkLeKDLF9TXpOTkvhFfR-2BFNaR2IreDZ7swBy1xJsc24AzuBXehJBcki-Sn__c3qhjFqCJXzJeaLgC4-2BCqP2zIDB2F1R4i1P1b47dvV7xI6PKWSdz-2B4Fqh4neBaYK7Sx5rz1Qj1-2Bu6lS7sFVJB-2Ftr0cV8KM-2FczzzD0mU41MpF3v3yLlwRA0gqpJxwb5aap6WeE0z5UUVC2pQyj3GliMkwAGlk54Cs8NIkXqLP6Ol98m4kdP2UuTLj9Y-2FEwR9jwqeBQsOsVI2-2BCP-2FGsma6u4yX7ybSbKEo6T9g5hvpG-2BkrUaDZ7xRxyJ3g2fJtlF1XhZe24HJ0CeYOlxfJx-2B4W3eTeKOj4WnuS02NfGCLqqV8-2FIIQDUZgdu7Z9tQr1KUi2 for your reference.
