The attached report contains a very detailed plan commissioned by Mainstreet Morgantown to install wayfinding signs around Morgantown.

The word "bicycle" is not mentioned once in the 76 pages of the plan.

The Greater Morgantown Bicycle Plan that the City Council unanimously adopted in May 2012 explicitly says, " Establish way-finding signage and roadway markings to support the bicycle route map http://bikemorgantown.com/route_map.php " (Encouragement #7).

Apparently, Morgantown City Council / Mainstreet Morgantown coordination can be improved. The rebranding meetings on Feb. 12 (9 am for business; 6 pm for non-business) in City Hall may be opportunities to facilitate that. I hope you will attend and give your input, e.g. brand Morgantown as a Bicycle Friendly Community.

Morgantown now has an excellent Comprehensive Plan, Long Range Transportation Plan, Bicycle Plan and Pedestrian Plan. Hopefully, this year, the City will be able to integrate them so that development projects will proceed to effectively and efficiently implement the plans and especially not scuttle any of them.
