Dear LAB,
The City of Morgantown, WV is preparing to submit it's second BFC application in February. Thanks for posting a PDF of the application at http://www.bikeleague.org/programs/bicyclefriendlyamerica/pdfs/bfc_applicati... . Can you provide a format that we can populate? For example, an MS Word template. We recognize that the final application must be submitted on-line but we need a format on which we can collaboratively build our application.
Also, if you have experience with other communities whose members have collaborated on the application, could you please share with us what worked? When we last applied in 2007, several people including the City Manager, Public Works Director, Chief of Police, Parks and Recreation Director, etc. input to the application. At that time, we worked with a shared MS Word document.
We are excited to get rolling on this application. Since our last application, we have implemented most of the recommendations that you gave us and we're looking forward to a re-evaluation.
How does one include photographs in the on-line application and reference documents such as our comprehensive Bicycle Plan to the on-line application?

Hi Frank,
Please find the MS Word version of our application attached. We recommend using Google docs for collaboration on the application. A community that has had a good collaborative effort is Alexandria, VA. Let me know if you need their contact information.
We are excited to see all those great changes that have happened in your community. Thank you for all your hard work.
Best regards,
Nicole

Bicycle Board Members,
Attached is the application form for the LAB Bicycle Friendly Community award. Perhaps looking at it will help you to decide whether you want to join the team to complete the application and submit it to LAB by next February. Forming a team to complete the application is the desired outcome of topic #9 on our agenda for this Thursday.
The current application is somewhat different than the one that we completed in 2007. Completing the new one will probably be a lot easier because it has more multiple choice questions and less essays. Also, we can probably reuse content from our previous application. You can review the previous application at Bicycle Application for the League of American Bicyclists Bicycle Friendly Community Award .
Riding in the rain:)
Frank
