Thanks for the information! I was not aware that Morgantown held this designation. I built my article off what I thought was a descent amount of research, and off of the interviews I did with both the sources quoted. If I had known about the designation I would have included it in the article.

The main reason that I put that Morgantown can sometimes be a difficult place to bike was that it set up Mr. Austin's quote about the rail trail being a good asset to improve upon.

Speaking personally, I think that Morgantown has done and is going to continue to do a great job at improving the community for those who bike.

Thanks for reaching out and letting me know about this distinction. I hope their is a good turnout for the open house on this issue as well.

Just wanted to point out that Morgantown is already a ‘Bicycle Friendly Community’ at the Bronze level, as designated by the League of American Bicyclists, a national bicycling advocacy group. Morgantown was the first city in the state of West Virginia to receive this designation in August of 2012.****
