Good morning, On July 15 I'll be in Washington DC at the end of riding from Pittsburgh, PA for the National Bicycle Greenway Mayors' Relay. I'll be received by city officials, and in the past that's included DC Bike Coordinator Jim Sebastian (whom I've met on this ride 2 previous years). It may be possible for me to arrange a tour of their bikeshare system which is just coming online this month. Would any of the bike board members be interested in coming up that day to join me for a tour if I can arrange it?
Note that this is tentative right now.
I should also explain that I have a selfish motive here - I'll be biking all the way from Morgantown and I'm looking to bum a ride back. I'll be happy to pay my share for gas and expenses.
Thanks. Nick Hein

Bike Board Members:
We may have an opportunity to obtain existing Mon County EMS information on the incidence of Bicycle (and Pedestrian) injuries for Morgantown and Monongalia County for the most recent complete year. Although this provides only a snapshot of the injuries (not everyone who is injured is treated by EMS), the data may well serve to identify hot spots for bicycle and pedestrian injury. The study can provide the important engineering, promotion, education, and enforcement focused info for planning purposes.
Please review the attached Summary statement and the Incidence Data Collection form. Your comments will be appreciated. I can change that language and the form.
What do you think?
Bill
If you approve of doing so, I would like to send the summary statement and data collection form out to the entire Bicycle Board for their input.
What do you think.
Bill

Morgantown Municipal Bicycle and Ped Safety Board Members:
We have an opportunity to assess existing Mon County EMS data on bike and ped injuries. Although this will not be comprehensive info (many injuries are not attended to by EMS) and much info will be missing (not available in the existing documentation), the data can provide guidance for engineering, promotion, education, and enforcement activities for Morgantown and ultimately Mon County.
Pls review the attached summary statement and the Incidence assessment form. Your suggestions will be appreciated.
Be well.

Greetings:
I will need letters of support from various community agencies and board members. Attachment B is a sample that came from another study. If you are so inclined, please draft a short statement of support of the study and send to me as a PDF or a hard copy (Bill Reger-Nash, WVU Community Medicine, Box 9190, Morgantown, WV 26506-9190). Ideally, the statement would be on your office stationery, although Board Members can simply indicate your board position in your return address.
Incorporate ideas contained in the attached summary statement as a content guide. Our goal is to have the final IRB proposal (with supporting documents) ready by July 15.
Thank you.
Be well.
